AMES, Iowa – Iowa State Academic Services has named Angelina Allen, Fallon DeWitt, John Klosterman and Hason Ward as the 2023 Fall Semester Student-Athletes of the Semester.
Angelina Allen, Softball
Angelina Allen is ready to build on a strong sophomore season, making 39 starts and earning a spot on the Big 12 All-Tournament Team after totaling four hits vs. No. 15 Baylor. The infielder had 33 hits at .228 including 11 doubles and three home runs. As a freshman, Allen started all 55 games and led the team hitting at .325. Allen is an Academic All-Big 12 First Team and Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll member.
Fallon DeWitt, Swimming and Diving
DeWitt is currently in her junior season as a backstroke/IM swimmer. DeWitt is a top-20 ranked swimmer in the 200 backstroke and 400 IM. Against Iowa this season, the swimmer clocked personal records in the 200 IM and 200 free. DeWitt is an Academic All-Big 12 First Team member.
John Klosterman, Football
Klosterman recorded three solo and assisted on six tackles in 13 games of the 2023 season as a linebacker. In high school, Klosterman was an Iowa Class 4A third-team all-state selection. Klosterman is a CSC Academic All-District and Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll member.
Hason Ward, Basketball
Currently in his senior season, Ward returned after missing nine games and has put up three double-figure point performances. Ward has shot at 63.3 percent from the field and totals 41 rebounds, 10 steals and eight blocks. In his first season with the Cyclones in 2022-23, Ward led ISU with a field goal percentage of 67.4 and was fourth on the team with 10 blocked shots.
