AMES, Iowa -Â No. 13 Iowa State returns to the Collegiate Duals for the third-consecutive season Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee. The Cyclones, fresh off a win over NDSU in their Big 12 dual opener, will face stiff competition at the event against Lock Haven (2 p.m.), No. 25 North Carolina (4 p.m.) and No. 5 Ohio State (6 p.m.).

CYCLONES AT THE COLLEGIATE DUALS
Iowa State wrestling fans have fond memories watching the Cyclones in Nashville, Tennessee. ISU went 3-0 with two top-15 victories last year in the Music City.
The Cyclones took six of 10 matches from No. 13 Pittsburgh as ISU prevailed, 21-14, over the Panthers. Iowa State then trounced Little Rock, 31-9, before topping No. 5 Cornell, 26-15, in the day's final dual.
Cody Chittum, a Cleveland, Tenn. native, is the lone Cyclone to hail from the state of Tennessee. At last year's duals, the Cyclone went 3-0 with two bonus-point victories in his home state.
KEY STORYLINES
- Iowa State is fresh off a 27-12 victory over North Dakota State in its Big 12 dual opener last Sunday. The win brought the Cyclones to a 2-2 record in dual action this season.
- Several Cyclones made notable debuts Sunday against the Bison. Osmany Diversent (133), Carter Fousek (149) and Manny Rojas (165) all made their career Cyclone dual debuts. Ethan Perryman (125), Cody Chittum (157) and Nando Villaescusa (184) made their season debuts in the ISU lineup.
- The Cyclones will wrestle at the Collegiate Duals for the third season in a row. ISU is 5-1 at the current format of the duals losing only to No. 1 Penn State in 2022-23. Iowa State won its pool last season, defeating Pittsburgh, Little Rock and Cornell.
- The injury bug has plagued the Cyclones early in the season. Iowa State lost starters Casey Swiderski (141) and Connor Euton (165) to season-ending knee injuries. Anthony Echemendia (149) is expected to be out until late January due to a high ankle sprain while heavyweight Yonger Bastida has wrestled in only one dual this season as he recovers from a lingering knee injury. Evan Frost (133) missed the NDSU dual last Sunday due to illness. Kysen Terukina (125) has yet to make his season debut due to a neck strain. Terukina, Frost and Bastida are listed as options in this week's probable lineup.
- Head coach Kevin Dresser preaches a high-paced, entertaining style of wrestling and encourages his athletes to give fans their money's worth. Nearly half of Iowa State's matches won this season (excluding open tournaments) have resulted in bonus points for the Cyclones (24-of-49, 48%).
