FAMILY BUSINESS
Members of the Iowa State women's basketball staff and team have ties to programs all over the country. Head coach Bill Fennelly's coaching tree has grown over his 35 years at the helm of two successful stints.
Fennelly hired Brenda Frese as an assistant in 1996 and she stayed until 1999 when she left to take over the program at Kent State. Brenda's younger sister, Stacy, is one of Iowa State's most prolific alums. The two-time AP All-American owns the career record for 3-point percentage (.453).
Since her time with the Cyclones, Frese has taken over the Maryland program and reached new heights with the Terps, including Final Four appearances in 2006, 2014 and 2015. Frese and the Terps won the National Title in 2006.
ISU assistant Billy Fennelly also spent time on Frese's staff. The eldest Fennelly son was the assistant recruiting coordinator for the Terrapins team that reached the Elite 8 in 2007-08.
Several players have sibling connections around Iowa State and the college game. Addy Brown's older sister Kennedy is a senior center at Duke, also a No. 7-seed in the NCAA Tournament. Kelsey Joens' older sister Ashley is Iowa State's all-time leading scorer. Two other Joens sisters have also played Division I basketball. Courtney played at Illinois and Aubrey is senior at Oklahoma. Arianna Jackson's father (Hez) and brother (Kendell) are both alums of the Cyclone football program.

ALL-AMERICAN AUDI
Iowa State freshman Audi Crooks is Iowa State's first freshman to earn All-America status.
Crooks has grown into a star role for the Cyclones, dominating the paint in her first season.
The Algona, Iowa native leads the nation's freshman in field goal percentage (.584) while averaging 18.9 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest. Crooks was a unanimous First-Team All-Big 12 selection, one of just four throughout the conference and a first for ISU. She was also a member of the Big 12 All-Tournament team and All-Freshman team.
REIGNING FROM THREE
As has been the case for decades, Iowa State is one of the top 3-point shooting teams in the country. Hannah Belanger leads the ISU effort from deep, canning 70 triples and connecting on 38.3 percent of her attempts from deep going into the NCAA Tournament.
This season, ISU is 20th in NCAA DI and second in the Big 12 through 31 games with 8.5 triples per game. The Cyclones have made 264 3-pointers this season, posting 10 or more made triples in 10 games this season.
