Leading Off: No. 36 Iowa State will be heading to Gainesville to kick off their regional against the No. 30 Clemson Tigers. This marks the first time that these two teams will compete with one another.
After a brief one-year hiatus the Cyclones are back into a regional. They got placed in Gainesville along with No. 4 Florida, No. 13 Missouri, No. 20 Georgia, and No. 30 Clemson. This will be the second time the Cyclones will be competing in Exactech Arena this season. Last time there they set a new season high score with their floor lineup of 49.400. Their floor lineup with look to carry on this recent surge into postseason play.
The Cyclones will look to move on with a win over Clemson. If they do beat the Tigers they will be placed in a quad meet with a trio of SEC teams in Florida, Missouri, and Georgia. ISU had a strong showing at Big 12's and will look to continue that momentum going into these pressure packed meets. Clemson is also coming in riding a high after they finished second place in the ACC championships.
Storylines:
- Iowa State placed fourth at Big 12's with a score of 196.350.
- ISU was able to just sneak into a regional after their performance at the Big 12 Championships led them to secure the final spot.
- Rachel Wilke has become a huge member of the beam lineup as she picked up another new career high of 9.9.
- Iowa State has really flourished on the floor of late as they set a new season a high a couple meets ago and then followed that up with a 49.300. This has been led by the emergence of Ella Schell who has a 9.95 and 9.9 in back-to-back meets.

- ISU enters the postseason ranked 36th with vault being their highest ranked event.
- Iowa State bounced back on bars in Norman, and this was led by a 9.85 by Lauren Thomas and a 9.825 from Loganne Basuel.
- Iowa State's has really stepped up lately and can help them get past Clemson and onto the next day. In Norman they had a team score of 49.150.
- The Cyclones continue to get consistent performances on floor from Noelle Adams and Kaia Parker as they routinely have seen scores a 9.9 or higher all season long.
Switching Sides to the Tigers:
- Head Coach Amy Smith is entering her 1st year at the helm of Clemson gymnastics.
- This season marks Clemson's first ever year with a gymnastics program, and they had a great debut as they come into this regional ranked 30th.
- The Tigers best event is floor with their ranking of 16 on that event.
- Clemson has a season high score of 197.600 which they saw at the beginning of March.
- Lauren Rutherford has been the top gymnast for the Tigers in their inaugural season. She averages 9.889 on floor and a 9.854 on vault.
