AMES, Iowa – Following last week's Big 12 Cross Country Championships, Iowa State men's and women's cross country teams remained ranked in the Top 10 of the USTFCCCA National poll. The Cyclone men are ranked second behind Big 12 Champion Oklahoma State while the ISU women remained sixth after a runner-up finish to No. 1 BYU.
Iowa State also remains the only school in the country with both its men's and women's programs in the Top 6. The Cyclone women were also voted the top programs in the Midwest Region in Week 5, announced by the USTFCCCA on Monday afternoon.
The Iowa State women continued their hot streak with a runner-up finish at the Big 12 Championships, the highest team finish since 2021. ISU had four runners earn All-Big 12 honors, as Mercyline Kirwa (5th), Betty Kipkore (6th), Mercy Kibet (7th) and Maelle Porcher (14th) all finished in the Top 15 in Lawrence.
On the men's side, the Cyclones finished as the runners-up behind Oklahoma State. It marks the ninth Top 3 finish at the Conference Championships in the last 10 seasons and the fourth-time as runners-up under head coach Jeremy Sudbury's direction. Robin Kwemoi Bera (3rd), Joash Ruto (5th), Rodgers Kiplimo (10th), Sanele Masondo (12th) and Meshack Kimutai (13th) earned All-Big 12 honors for their individual performances. Bera, Ruto, Kiplimo and Masondo are all repeat honorees.

Iowa State travels to Stillwater for the second time in three seasons to compete at the 2025 NCAA Midwest Regional Championship. The Cyclone women will race in the 6K at 10:30 am with the men's 10K to follow at 11:30 am. The meet will be broadcast on ESPN+.
