AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team is set to compete in two tournaments in the Lone Star State this weekend. Ashlee Narker, Mari Paz Alberto Vilar and Stanislava Shulzhenko earned spots in the ITA Sectionals in College Station, Texas, while the other six players on the roster will head to Waco, Texas for the M-E-B Invitational.
ITA Sectionals
The tournament begins on Thursday and lasts through Sunday. Shulzhenko and Alberto Vilar will be competing in doubles, with their first match set for 9 a.m. on Thursday against Kansas State's Maralgoo Chogsomjav and Zhanel Rustemova.
Narker and Alberto Vilar will be competing in the singles draw at Noon on Thursday. Narker will face Oklahoma's Oyinlomo Quadre, while Alberto Vilar will take on Notre Dame's Bojana Pozder.
M-E-B Invitational
The tournament kicks off Friday and runs through Sunday and is hosted by Baylor. Julia Camblor, Suzanie Pretorius, Valeska San Martin Ramirez, Gabriella Kellner, Gabriela Felix and Kira Smith will represent the Cyclones in Waco. Schedule and draws TBA.
