MORGANTOWN, W. Va. - Iowa State (4-6, 1-2 Big 12) secured their first Big 12 win this season against West Virginia (1-6, 0-3 Big 12) Sunday afternoon. ISU finished with 195.375, and West Virginia with 194.175. Sunday's score is the third-highest team score of the season for the Cyclones so far.
"We got our first Big 12 conference win, which is really exciting," said Head Coach Ashley Miles Greig. "Really proud of Haylee Hardin with her floor score she just continues to shine; and a great showing from Kaia Bochow as well on bars. With her being a transfer from [West Virginia] today was a big deal for her and we just rallied behind her, so to see her putting together a great routine today was awesome."
The Cyclones were led by the freshmen duo Haylee Hardin and Frederique Sgarbossa on Sunday afternoon against the Mountainers. Hardin put up a 9.925 on floor and Sgarbossa earned a 9.850 on bars. This is Hardin's second-highest score of the season on floor. Lauren Thomas was another standout for the Cyclones, earning a 9.825 on bars. Iowa State will be back on the road again next week as they head to Tucson for another Big 12 matchup against Arizona. Kaia Bochow also tied her season high score on bars with a 9.775.

Iowa State was led by Haylee Hardin on vault this afternoon with a score of 9.825. Paige Wills and Hannah Loyim were also strong standouts, with each gymnast earning a 9.775. Vault continues to be a strong event for the Cyclones.
