PHILADELPHIA - Iowa State 133-pounder Evan Frost took out a pair of top-12 opponents Friday afternoon to advance into the Round of 12 at the NCAA Championships. His twin brother, Jacob, will join him in the Round of 12, otherwise known as the Blood Round, with All-America honors on the line Friday night inside the Wells Fargo Center.
Evan, the No. 11 seed, started his day with a solid 8-4 decision over North Carolina's No. 12 Ethan Oakley to advance into the Round of 16. He then knocked off Little Rock's returning All-American and No. 3 seed Nasir Bailey, 5-3, thanks to a takedown with 0:13 remaining.

Jacob dropped his quarterfinal bout against Nebraska's top-seeded Brock Hardy. The Husker pinned the Cyclone in the third period, sending Frost to the wrestlebacks.
ISU sits in 22nd place in the team standings with 12.5 points.
Iowa State had a positive start to the day with Paniro Johnson, Cody Chittum and Aiden Riggins winning their Round of 24 matches to join Evan Frost in the Round of 16. Those three came up short later in the session and saw their tournaments come to an end.
At 149 pounds, No. 4 Johnson started his day with a 4-3 decision over Rutgers' No. 19 Andrew Clark. Johnson had the only takedown of the match thanks to a nasty blast double which caught Clark in the nose. In the Round of 16, Johnson was unable to escape from Rider's No. 11 Sammy Alvarez in the third period as he dropped a 2-0 decision.
No. 16 Chittum won his Round of 24 match against Chattanooga's No. 31 Noah Clark, 5-3. Chittum controlled a majority of the match and registered the only takedown in the second period. In a rematch from last year's NCAA Championships, Chittum fell once again to Minnesota's Tommy Askey, 4-3, in the Round of 16.
Riggins, the No. 30 seed, won his third-consecutive match in the Round of 24 with a commanding 9-1 major decision against No. 14 Will Miller (APP). The Cyclone registered two takedowns and a reversal, as well as over a minute of riding time, to advance into the Round of 16. Riggins' run came to an end later that session when he was pinned by Cornell's No. 5 Julian Ramirez in 1:53.
No. 23 MJ Gaitan saw his season end in the Round of 24. He and Nebraska's No. 8 Lenny Pinto wrestled a roly-poly match which saw the Husker come out on top, 18-1.
