Leading Off: The Cyclones are headed to Iowa City this week, as they get ready to face the Iowa Hawkeyes on Friday evening.Â
Iowa State had a number of gymnasts standout last weekend against Denver and NC State. Noelle Adams earned at 9.900 on vault, and she scored a 9.875 on floor. The Cyclones are currently ranked 29th on vault. Emma Ricks and Frederique Sgarbossa both scored a 9.825 on bars. Haylee Hardin earned a 9.850 on floor.
The Iowa Hawkeyes are currently ranked 32nd on Road to Nationals. Iowa is part of the Big 10 conference and has a record of 3-3. This meet will count as part of the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk series, which currently has a record of 13-8 with the Cyclones winning. A win for either team this Friday will add two more points to the score.Â
Storylines:
- Freshman Haylee Hardin has won Big 12 Newcomer of the Week three times in a row this season. She owns four 9.9-plus scores this season and has six event titles.
- The Cyclones are ranked 29th on vault.
- Josie Bergstrom-Te Slaa continues to be a leader for the Cyclones. She earned a 9.9 on beam and 9.8 on vault at the Arizona meet.
- Bergstrom-Te Slaa also competes All-Around for Iowa State which is a testament to her hard work.

- Iowa State returned 10 gymnasts from last year's squad that made the largest improvement in the country.
- ISU has added four freshmen and one transfer for a team of 15.
- Noelle Adams and Josie Bergstrom-Te Slaa were both named to the Big 12 Preseason Gymnastics team.
- Iowa State's 10 victories last season were tied for the most since it won 20 in 2018.
- Sophomore Noelle Adams claimed 14 event titles last year in her freshman campaign. Those 14 titles were the third-most in program history by a first-year gymnast.
- As a team, ISU claimed 17 event titles last season.
- 2025 will mark the first year that Iowa State competes in a conference schedule, as the additions of Arizona, Arizona State and Utah put the conference at seven teams.
