The Beginning of the Leach Era
Head Coach Matt Leach led his first Cyclone team during the 2024-25 season. He earned dual wins over South Dakota, South Dakota State, and UNI. Leach's first Cyclone win came over the Jackrabbits on Oct. 10th by 107 points.Â
Academic All-America Honors
Carley Caughron, Winter Craig, Fallon DeWitt, and Mallory Miller were recognized with College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements throughout the year.
The team earned CSCAA Scholar All-America honors for the fall semester, boasting a 3.69 team GPA with nine student-athletes achieving a perfect 4.0.
NCAA Zone Diving
Maggie Bendell, Ally Blumenfeld, Kate Mitchell, and Abby Tollefson recorded qualifying scores throughout the season, earning spots at the NCAA Zone Diving Qualifier in Iowa City.
Mitchell qualified for all three events—1-meter, 3-meter, and platform—while Bendell and Blumenfeld secured spots in the springboard events. Tollefson earned her qualification in the 1-meter.
Big 12 Weekly Honors
Freshman Anja Peck was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week in January following standout performances against Iowa, where she placed second in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke, setting a personal best in the 200. She went on to lower her times in both events later in the season, posting a 1:02.64 in the 100 breast and a 2:13.82 in the 200.

Top Senior PerformancesÂ
Mallory Miller climbed to third on the program's all-time Top Performers list in the 400 IM with the fourth-fastest time in school history. She clocked a 4:18.06 at the Big 12 Championships, shaving seven seconds off her previous season-best of 4:25.32. Miller also notched personal bests in her two other events, finishing the 200 IM in 2:02.02 and clocking a 16:53.63 in the 1650 freestyle.
Carley Caughron claimed two personal bests at Big 12 Championships in the 100 free, making her way up to fifth on the all-time top performer's list at Iowa State.Â
Fallon DeWitt led the way in backstroke during her senior campaign, earning four top-three finishes in the 200 back. A consistent contributor, DeWitt secured the No. 6 spot on the program's all-time 200 back list last season and closes out her collegiate career with four top-15 performances.
Winter Craig claimed first place in five 200 fly events during the season and consistently led the team as its fastest swimmer in the event. She wraps up her collegiate career as the second-fastest 200 fly performer in Iowa State history with a time of 2:00.91.
Andie Quirke was a standout in the 50 freestyle and a key contributor on Iowa State's freestyle relays during her senior season. She helped lead the 400 freestyle relay to a ninth-place finish at the Big 12 Championships, just 0.13 seconds shy of the school record. Quirke also earned four top-five individual finishes throughout the season.
Grad transfer Sophie Schmitz capped off her collegiate career with a strong final season at Iowa State. She set a season best in the 200 fly, securing a spot as the sixth-fastest performer in program history. Schmitz also earned a place on the 400 IM all-time list, ranking 16th.
