AMES, Iowa – Iowa State ends the 2025 indoor and outdoor track and field season totaling 21 All-America honors, 13 school records and four Big 12 titles.
2025 Track and Field
The Iowa State men and women have now scored at both indoor and outdoor NCAA Championships in back-to-back seasons, something Iowa State has not done since 1990-91.
ISU's 21 indoor and outdoor honors, including five first team, is the second-highest total in program history just behind the record of 25 set in 2024.
Rachel Joseph has shown the nation she is one of the top 400m sprinters and has the resume to prove it. The sprinter picked up the honor of 2024-25 Iowa State Celia Barquin Arozamena Female Athlete of the Year. Joseph is now a five-time All-American, two-time Big 12 champ and the '25 USTFCCCA Indoor and Outdoor Regional Track Athlete of the Year. Just four of 18 track men and women won both awards in 2025.

Outdoor Season
The Cyclones ended NCAA Outdoor Championships with 12 earning 14 All-America honors: seven men in six events, three women in three individual events and the women's 4x400m relay.
Mikey McClain made history as the first Cyclone man to advance to nationals in the 200m since 1928, and second in school history. McClain broke ISU's 30-year-old record at conference as he came .001 off the Big 12 title, and went on to go 20.30.

The women's 4x400m also accomplished something ISU has not in a while, as they advanced to nationals for the first time since 1982. Brooklyn Sandvig, Makayla Clark, Karynne David and Joseph went sub-3:30 for the first time with a school-record 3:29.68 at regionals to punch their ticket.
Indoor Season
Joseph and Darius Kipyego earned First Team All-America, while ISU had seven total pick up All-America honors to cap indoor season.
Emanuel Galdino (1,000m), Dugion Blackman (600y) and Rachel Joseph (400m) won Big 12 titles. Galdino also set the mile school record (3:54.23) while Devan Kipyego timed in .01 second later as the duo produced the two fastest ISU mile times. Nine of 13 sub-4 minute milers have run under Jeremy Sudbury's direction, while four broke the barrier this season.
ISU ended indoor season with eight event squads ranked in the top 15 nationally, including five in the top 10 (men's 800m, men's 5K, men's weight throw, men's mile, men's 3K). Event squads are calculated using the top four athlete's averages.
Numerous qualifying Cyclones now return to competition with USATF Outdoor National Championships in Eugene, Oregon July 31 through August 3.
