AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State men's golf team kick off the 2025-26 season at the Gopher Invitational. The Cyclones won last year's event, beating host Minnesota by two strokes.

COURSE INFORMATION
The Gopher Invitational has called Windsong Farm Golf Club home for the past 11 years. Windsong Farm is consistently rated among Minnesota's top golf courses, with additional national recognition as one of the top modern courses in the nation. Originally created by John Fought and Minnesota native Tom Lehman, the course's breathtaking views and unmatched conditions contribute to the ultimate golfing experience. Opened in 2003, Windsong measures 7,380 yards and is a par 71 layout.
KEY STORYLINES
- The Cyclones won three tournaments last year, taking home titles at the Gopher Invitational, the Zach Johnson Invitational, and the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate.Â
- Paul Beauvy returns for his senior season, after qualifying for his first NCAA Regional last year. Beauvy currently sits in the second spot on the career stroke average list with a 71.71 average. His 70.91 scoring average last season is the fourth-lowest single-season stroke average in Iowa State history.
- Beauvy earned his first medalist honors at the N.I.T. last year with a career-best 54-hole score of 201, the third-lowest in program history. His 64 in the final round is tied for the third-lowest round in school history.Â
- Senior Zach May earned his first tournament win at the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate last season, shooting a career-low 206 as well as tying the lowest round of his career (66) in the final round to help him finish 10-under par.Â
- As a freshman last season, Luke Metcalf carded a 65 at the Gopher Invitational, tying the second-lowest round by a freshman in school history.
