TUCSON, ARIZ. – Iowa State continued their strong showing at the MountainView Collegiate in round two, keeping momentum on their side with another impressive day on the course. After a dominant opening round, the Cyclonitas followed it up with an even round two. The Cyclones lead the tournament by nine shots still after Texas Tech shot the best round two score of the field with an eight-under round.
Alexandra Vidal still sits atop the Cyclones team after backing up her first round of eight-under with a three-over round, putting her in a tie for fourth and totaling her two-round score to five-under. Nichakorn Pinprayoon remained right in the hunt, carding an even round two to hold a tie for fourth place with a total of five-under as well. Pinprayoon continued to showcase her consistent ability, with a tie for a team high of 16 pars in her second round.
Pammy Chookaew delivered another solid round, shooting the Cyclones' second even round to place herself in a tie for 13th with a two-round total of one-under. Chookaew matched Pinprayoon with 16 pars in her second round.Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn moved to a tie for 18th after a one-over round, putting her total back to even par. Chul-Ak-Sorn snagged four birdies in her round, with three of them being on the front nine.
Isabella Yan added a one-under round to her tournament, moving her up to a tie for 13th. This puts Yan's total at one-under with her four birdies to help.Keeley Marx, competing as an individual, shot a 77 in her second round, moving her up to a tie for 77th with a total score of 12-over.
With one round remaining, Iowa State will look to close out the tournament the same way they started as they aim to bring home another team title.
