DALLAS, TX- After round two of the Big 12 Championship, the Cyclones sit alone in third place with one round to play. Moving day was competitive, with many good team scores from the field, but it was the Cyclonitas' three-under round that was the best score of the day. This put Iowa State's total score at two over par, trailing the Houston Cougars by six strokes, who stayed atop the leaderboard following a one-under par round two score.Â
Nichakorn Pinprayoon stays in the top five after a one-under round with a birdie on her last hole of the day to give her momentum heading into her final round. Pinprayoon sits at two under par, putting her at a tie for fifth with four birdies in her round. Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn took control and led the Cyclones in round two following a two-under-par round two. This leaves Chul-Ak-Sorn in a tie for 13th with a two-round score of one over par. Like Pinprayoon, Chul-Ak-Sorn also snagged four birdies in her round today.Â
Pammy Chookaew kept it going following a one-over-par round two score. This puts Chookaew in a tie for 22nd with a total score of three-over par. Chookaew added a pair of birdies to help her score out. Alexandra Vidal found a groove in round two, shooting the Cyclones third round under par on the day. Vidal shot a clean one-under round, bringing her score back to three-over and also placing her in a tie for 22nd. Vidal's three birdies in her round helped give her the momentum needed to get a round in the red.
Isabella Yan stayed consistent but moved back to another tie for 22nd after a two-over round, putting her total score at three over par. Yan snagged two birdies in her round, including one on the 18th hole.Â
With one round left in the Big 12 Championship, the Cyclones have to make up six strokes to catch the Houston Cougars, who sit at a two-round score of four-under par.
