Pinprayoon in First After Day One of the Badger Invitational

MADISON, Wis. - Nichakorn Pinprayoon and the Cyclonitas got off to a fast start to open the season, finishing the first day of the Badger Invitational with four Cyclones in the Top-15. Iowa State as a team is tied for second place with Michigan, shooting a five-under 283 and sit two strokes behind tournament leader Northwestern.

Pinprayoon sits alone at the top of leaderboard after the first round, carding a 68 (-4), her 16th round in the 60's of her career. Pinprayoon tallied five birdies on the day, tied for third-most in the tournament. The junior averaged the second-lowest score on Par 3's (2.60) and Par 5's (4.60) in the field after day one. Krittiya Thanintorndamrongdej sits in a tie for 10th after carding a career-best round with a 71. Thanintorndamrongdej totaled three birdies and shot one-under on Par 4's, tied for fifth-best in the field.

Alexandra Vidal shot an even-par 72, tying for 14th at the end of day one. Vidal carded three birdies and averaged the lowest score in the tournament on Par 4's today (3.75). Freshman Emma Zheng finishes her first career round shooting a 72 to also tie for 14th. Zheng tallied three birdies today.

Isabella Yan is tied for 23rd (+1), carding one birdie after the first round. Playing as an individual, freshman Aelisa Twiltermsup shot a 79 in the first round of her career. Twiltermsup tallied one birdie on the round, carding it on her final hole of the day.

The Cyclonitas shot a 3.98 average on Par 4's today, the best mark in the field. ISU carded the second-lowest average on Par 5's (4.84) and tallied the third most birdies in the first round (15).

The second round of the Badger Invitational will take place tomorrow morning, with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. CT and Iowa State starting at 10 a.m.
