Vidal Leaps Into a Tie for Second After the First Round of the Stanford Intercollegiate

STANFORD, Calif. - No. 84 Alexandra Vidal sat in a tie for 13th place with three holes to go in her first round. Vidal went on to card an eagle and back-to-back birdies to finish her round and leap into a tie for second (-5) with Windy City Classic champion No. 5 Jaclyn LaHa. No. 17 Iowa State concluded the first round of the Stanford Invitational this evening in a tie for eighth place (+7) with No. 8 UCLA. Host No. 12 Stanford leads the team race after day one at -13, as Stanford's No. 89 Andrea Revuelta sits in first on the individual leaderboard, shooting six-under in the first round and one stroke ahead of Vidal.
Vidal tied a season-low round with a 66 in the opening round of the Stanford Intercollegiate, her 10th round in the 60's of her career. Vidal is tied for first in Par 5 scoring (-4) and tied for second in Par 4 scoring (-1), while carding four birdies and an eagle, her third of her career. No. 98 Nichakorn Pinprayoon shot one-over par, tying for 26th after the first round. Pinprayoon finished the round with three birdies.
Isabella Yan is tied for 60th after the opening round, carding a 76 (+5). Krittiya Thanintorndamrongdej shot a 77, tying for 72nd with three birdies. No. 19 Emma Zheng finished the opening round tied for 84th, tallying two birdies.
The Cyclonitas will turn to the second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate tomorrow morning, with Zheng leading off at 10:25 a.m. CT.
