Cyclonitas Wrap up Day One of the Windy City Classic

GLENCOE, Ill. - After a solid start to the Windy City Classic in the first round, the Cyclonitas fell to 12th (290-300=590, +22) at the end of the first day. Stanford leads after two rounds at -9, just one of two teams to finish the day under-par. Oregon's Celina Yeo leads the individual race at -7, as she is just one of two women to shoot under-par in both of her rounds.
Nichakorn Pinprayoon leads the Cyclonitas in scoring, shooting three-over to tie for 21st after two rounds. Pinprayoon shot a 71 in the second round to jump 11 spots from the first round. The junior carded a team-high seven birdies, tied for seventh-most in the field. Emma Zheng shot a team-best 70 in the first round, tied for the fourth-best first round score, but carded the first over-par round of her career through three tournaments in the second round. Zheng is now tied for 31st at five-over par and recorded the second-most pars (28) in the field and two birdies.
Alexandra Vidal is tied for 38th (+6) after shooting an even-par 71 in the first round. Vidal shot three-under on Par 5's today, tied for the fourth-best score in the tournament and tallied five birdies. Isabella Yan shot consecutive 75's in her first two rounds, tying for 47th at the end of day one at eight-over par. Yan totaled three birdies and tied the seventh-best score on Par 5's (-2). Krittiya Thanintorndamrongdej sits in a tie for 54th (+10), carding three birdies on the day.
The final round of the Windy City Classic will take place tomorrow morning, with Iowa State set to tee off starting at 8:24 a.m. CT.
