PRIMER: Cyclonitas Kick Off 2026-27 Season at the Badger Invitational

AMES, Iowa - The Cyclonitas kick off the 2026-27 season in Madison, Wis. for the Badger Invitational, returning three players from last year's program-best finish at the NCAA Championships (9th). The tournament starts on Sunday, Sept. 13th and will conclude on Tuesday, Sept. 15th, where one round will be played each day.

COURSE INFORMATION
The University Ridge Golf Course is the official home course to the Wisconsin men's and women's golf teams, which opened in 1991. University Ridge derives its name from the landscape features left by the last retreating glacier. The wide-open front nine rolls through a preserved prairie and marshland, while the first six holes of the back nine are cut out of a dense Wisconsin woodland.
KEY STORYLINES
- Nichakorn Pinprayoon returns after a steller sophomore campaign. Pinprayoon won three tournaments last year, including the Big 12 Championship.Â
- The junior from Lopburi, Thailand earned WGCA and Golfweek honorable mention All-America honors after the season. With a 72.37 career stroke average, she currently holds the top spot in program history.
- Juniors Alexandra Vidal and Isabella Yan also return for the Cyclonitas this season. Yan (74.08 - 8th) and Vidal (75.54 - 9th) are both among the Top-10 in school history in career stroke average.
- Iowa State appeared in their 16th-straight NCAA Regionals, the third-longest streak in the Big 12 and the 15th-longest in the country.Â
- ISU finished Top-5 at the NCAA Regionals for a second-straight year, as the Cyclonitas tied for fourth at the NCAA Louisville Regional after a program-best 54-hole NCAA score (855).
- Iowa State won its first Big 12 Championship in program history last year, with two Cyclones placing in the top 10.
- Head Coach Christie Martens was named the 2026 Big 12 Coach of the Year, receiving the honor for the second time in her career (2011).
