CARLSBAD, Calif. – History will be made on Monday, as the Iowa State Women's Golf team will play on the final day of stroke play. One of 15 teams that will play in the final round, the Cyclonitas are guaranteed the best NCAA Championship finish in program history. The Cyclones have previously finished 22nd (2025) and 23rd (2014) in their first two trips to the NCAA Championships.
Iowa State's 861 over the 54-holes is the third-best NCAA score in school history. The 285 in today's third round is the fifth-best 18-hole NCAA score in program history.
Sophomore Alexandra Vidal continues to put together one of the best NCAA runs in program history. She shot a 68 (-4) in the third round, tied for the third-lowest NCAA 18-hole score in program history. Sitting in a tie for 13th place, her 54-hole score of 211 is tied for the lowest NCAA 54-hole score in school history. Starting on the back nine, Vidal had four birdies in her first seven holes. She also added another birdie on her second to last hole. Vidal is the seventh player in program history to have three or more rounds of 71 or less in NCAA play.
Pammy Chookaew climbed into the Top 20, as she shot a 70 (-2) in the third round. It was her fifth career NCAA Round of 71 or better, the second-most in program history. Chookaew had five birdies on the day, bringing her 54-hole score to 214, tied for the fifth-best 54-hole NCAA score in school history.
Isabella Yan shot a 74 (+2), as she is tied for 60th with a 220 over 54-holes. Yan had a birdie on the front and back nine. Senior Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn shot a 76 (+4), as she is tied for 96th, with a 223 over the 54 holes. Chul-Ak-Sorn played her 137th career round, tied for the fourth-most in program history. She added a birdie on the 15th hole. Nichakorn Pinprayoon had the third-best round of the day for the Cyclonitas, as she shot a 73 (+1). Pinprayoon had three birdies on the day, bringing her 54-hole score to 226, as she is tied for 117th.
The 30-team field will be cut to the top 15, along with the top nine individuals on non-advancing teams, for the final round of stroke play on Monday. The 72-hole individual National Champion, and the eight teams for match play, will be determined following Monday's completion of stroke play.
Iowa State will begin teeing off at 1:25 p.m. (CT) on Monday for the final round.
