LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A program record 15 Cyclones were recognized as National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Scholar Athletes on Tuesday, the organization announced following the conclusion of the 2024-25 academic year.
Athletes who earned honors from the 2026 Cyclone softball team were McKenna Andrews, Reagan Bartholomew, Ireland Buss, Jessie Clemons, Hailey Holtz, Sydney Malott, Ashley Minor, Isabelle Nosan, Hayleigh Oliver, Liv Palumbo, Sami Potvin, Victoria Prado, Lauren Schurman, Kadence Shepherd and Ava Wilmes.
Bartholomew, Clemons, Prado and Shepherd were each recognized for the second straight season, while Buss, Nosan and Schurman garnered the award for the third consecutive year. Andrews, Mallot and Minor closed their careers having achieved the award in all four years of their collegiate careers.
The award, which has been issued since the 2013-14 season, recognizes the academic prowess of softball teams across the NFCA's membership categories. NCAA Division I led the way with 2,637 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2025-26. NCAA Division III followed with 2,491 and NCAA Division II with 1,869.
