Jeff Parker was hired as an Assistant Soccer Coach at Iowa State on August 9, 2024.
Parker has 26Â years of head coaching experience on his resume and comes to Ames after a 24 year stint as the head coach of the Stevens Institute of Technology soccer program. Overall, he has 28 years of collegiate coaching experience across NCAA Division I and Division III programs. Besides Stevens, Parker also coached at Georgetown as an assistant (1995-98) and Saint Peter's as head coach (1998-99).
In his first season in Ames, Parker helped Iowa State finish 3-9-6, setting a new school record for draws in a season.
At Stevens, Parker oversaw a program that made 22 consecutive postseason appearances. He also earned 16 conference championship titles during his time as a head coach, making the NCAA postseason 13 times. As part of those NCAA postseason runs, Parker helped lead Stevens to three Sweet 16 appearances. In total, Parker led Stevens to 302 victories - a program record.
As a head coach, Parker has over 500 games under his belt. Four of his previous assistants have gone on to become head coaches of their own at the college ranks. Under his guidance, Parker had nine Academic All-Americans and four athletes earned All-American honors for their performance on the pitch.
He holds certifications from the United States Soccer Federation and NSCAA/United Soccer Coaches Association and has completed courses from the United European Football Association, the Czech Football Association and the Football Association of Ireland. Parker served four years on the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Committee including two as national chair.
Parker graduated from Texas Tech in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism and then earned his Master of Arts from TTU in sports administration in 1993.
