Iowa State Softball Picks up First Victory of the Season

POWAY, Calif. - The Iowa State softball team picked up its first win of the season Saturday by defeating New Mexico 2-0 in the San Diego State tournament in San Diego, Calif.
Cyclone hurler Erica Martinez shut out the Lobos fanning eight batters to improve her record to 1-1. Freshman Rainey Eanes was 2-of-3 at the plate with two RBI's to lead the Iowa State hitting attack. Lauren Cathy and Kelly Wardein each contributed a hit.
The Cyclones continue play Sunday when they take on Sacramento State at 1 p.m. in the final round of the San Diego State tournament
