Houston Defeats Iowa State Softball in Troy Cox Classic

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The Iowa State softball team fell to Houston, 5-2 Saturday at the Troy Cox Classic in Las Cruces, N.M.
The Cyclones scored two runs on six hits. Iowa State scored one run in the bottom of the first and one run in the bottom of the fourth. Adi Blackmon had two hits for ISU. Lauren Cathey and Erica Martinez had a hit and RBI respectively. Laura Browning and Kimi Yoshizawa each contributed a hit.
Martinez (1-3) took the loss for the Cyclones allowing four runs on four hits while fanning three. Senior Kristin Ferguson allowed one run on four hits while working the mound 4 innings.
