TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Iowa State softball team fell to Florida Atlantic, 2-1 and #21 Michigan, 2-0 Saturday at the Seminole Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla.
The Cyclones lost to Florida Atlantic in the first game of the Seminole Invitational. Kimi Yoshizawa had a hit and a RBI. Erica Martinez, Amberly Lessenger and Mindy Ogan each contributed a hit. Martinez (2-6) recorded the loss for the Cyclones, allowing two runs on four hits while fanning five.
No. 21 Michigan defeated Iowa State in the second game of the Seminole Invitational. Blackmon and Julia Lindsay each contributed a hit. Martinez (2-7) took the loss for ISU, giving up two runs on seven hits while striking out five.
Iowa State is 9-13 on the season. The Cyclones open up Big 12 play on Saturday, March 24 when they take on Baylor at 1 p.m. in ISU's home opener.
