SAN DIEGO, Calif. ? The Iowa State softball team's scheduled game against No. 23 Fresno State on the last day of the San Diego State Campbell/Cartier Classic has been cancelled due to unplayable fields following a night of rain in the San Diego area. Sunday's cancellation of all the games to be played follows a Saturday in which four games were called off.
The Cyclones finished the tournament with a 1-3 record, while Cal State Northridge won the Campbell/Cartier Classic with a 4-0 record. Iowa State lost to Cal State Northridge (6-3), San Diego State (4-0), and Long Beach State (6-2) and defeated Sacramento State (2-1).
Iowa State next plays in the University of Louisville's tournament on March 5-7. The Cyclones first game will be on Friday, March 5, against Tennessee Martin, starting at 11 a.m.
