CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. ? The Iowa State softball team defeated Indiana State, 4-3, Saturday afternoon in the team's third game of Southeast Missouri State's Southeast Classic tournament. The win improved ISU's record to 3-12 after it dropped two earlier contests against Missouri State and host Southeast Missouri State.
Against Indiana State, the Cyclones won, 4-3, in extra innings and snapped a five-game losing streak. ISU's last win was against Sacramento State on Feb. 21.
In ISU's first game of the day, the Cyclones lost, 8-0, to Missouri State and in their second game of the day, they lost, 8-4, to host Southeast Missouri State.
Iowa State continues play in the 2004 Southeast Classic on Sunday, when it takes on Valparaiso at 10 a.m., and Bradley at 12 p.m.
