AMES, Iowa ? The Iowa State softball team had its three-game winning streak snapped when visiting Texas Tech rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh to post a 3-1 come-from-behind victory over the Cyclones on Saturday at the Southwest Athletic Complex. The Cyclones fall to 12-16 overall and 0-3 in the Big 12, while the Red Raiders improve to 21-11 on the year and 1-2 in league action.
The Cyclones made a 1-0 advantage hold up for most of the contest with their only run of the game coming on a RBI double by sophomore Katie Reichling in the first inning, scoring classmate Jessica Quade from second. Quade reached base on a double to left.
However with two outs, two on and two strikes in the top of the seventh, Texas Tech's Lisa Lawler hit a three-run blast over the left field wall to give the Red Raiders the win.
Sophomore Alyssa Ransom took the loss, dropping her record to 6-10 on the year. Ransom scattered five hits in the complete game performance.
The two squads meet on Sunday in the series finale at noon.
