AUSTIN, Texas ? 18th-ranked Texas scored five runs in the fourth inning to defeat Iowa State, 9-1, and earn a sweep of the Big 12 series Sunday afternoon at McCombs Field.
The Longhorns (33-16, 8-9 Big 12) scored a pair of runs in the first and second innings before tacking on five runs on six hits in the fourth to take the five inning win.
The Cyclones (22-39, 1-15) put a run on the board in the third as Ariel Coburn singled to lead off the inning and came around to score on freshman Alex Johnson's 24th RBI of the season.
Kacie Gaskin and MicKayla Padilla drove in two runs each to pace
Fallon Johnson joined Coburn and Alex Johnson with hits for ISU in the loss.
Erin Tresselt (11-2) picked up the win in relief for
Charissa Carlin (9-11) took the loss for
