Cyclones? Season Ends At Hands Of Baylor

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Baylor scored nine runs in the second inning en route to a 15-4 win over Iowa State at the Big 12 Championships. With the loss, Iowa State ends its season 26-29 overall.
Both teams got on the board early with Iowa State leading 2-1 after the first inning.
Kelsey Kidwell hit a one-out triple and Erica Miller connected on her seventh homer of the season for the Cyclones' scoring off of Baylor pitcher Courtney Repka.
The Lady Bears got a run back in the bottom half of inning on a fielding error by second baseman Amanda Bradberry. After Lauren Kennewell retired the first two batters, the sophomore lost control and walked the bases loaded. Kennewell induced a ground ball off the bat of Kathy Shelton that Bradberry was unable to handle, allowing a run to score and cutting the ISU lead in half.
The Cyclones' struggles continued in the second as Baylor put nine runs on the board to break open the contest with a 10-2 lead.
After two more Baylor runs in the third, ISU scored a pair of its own in the top of the fourth. Courtney Wray walked and Sydni Jones singled to lead off the inning. Alex Johnson then drew a four-pitch walk and Carleigh Berry laced a single through the right side to plate Wray and Jones, trimming the deficit to 12-4.
The Lady Bears put three more runs on the board and held ISU scoreless in the bottom of the fifth to end the Cyclones' season and the careers of seniors Bradberry, Johnson, Jones, Kidwell and Wray. The five players combined for 797 hits in their careers and will go down as one of the best classes in school history.
Kidwell led the Cyclones with two hits in three at bats Saturday.
Kennewell (1-5) took the loss for the Cyclones, giving up six runs in 1.2 innings.
Repka (20-18) got the win for Baylor, which advances to face top-seeded Texas at 1:30 p.m. Repka allowed four hits and two runs in the game.
