IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Iowa State soccer team (4-3-0) fell to Iowa (5-1-0) on Friday night as part of the Iowa Corn CyHawk Series.

Turning Point of the Game
In the sixth minute, Iowa earned a corner kick and Karsen Rauch put a ball into the box in front of the goal. Iowa State goalkeeper Lindsey Hendon and Hawkeye Tory Harman both went up to get it and Harman was able to head it in for the early goal. The Cyclones attacked throughout the game and had a number of good looks, but just couldn't find the back of the net.
Cyclone Game Ball Goes to...
Jordan Enga. The freshman recorded her first official minutes on the field as a Cyclone and she gave the team a lot of energy as the left back defender. Enga was able to apply some pressure on the offensive end as well and fired one shot on goal.

Coach Said It
"Tough loss. We dug ourselves into an early hole by giving up that goal in the first five off of the corner kick,” head coach Tony Minatta said. “We recovered well, but still didn't play a great first half. Second half, we came out and we pressed them. We put a lot of pressure on them, but ultimately you have to put the ball into the back of the net. Credit to their keeper, made an incredible save on Haley Albert's header. They fought hard until the end and they weren't going to give anything up. We need to learn from this and move forward to the next game and put ourselves in position to not make the same mistakes again.”
Game Notes
