Thirty Cyclones Named To Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team

IRVING, Texas – Iowa State earned 30 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team selections across nine sports for the 2021-22 year, the conference announced Thursday.
Two student-athletes notched a perfect 4.0 GPA over the academic year while football led Iowa State teams with five honorees. Since the award's 2012-13 introduction, 367 Cyclone student-athletes have become recipients.
Student-athletes are nominated by each institution's director of student-athlete support services. As a new or first-time/incoming freshman, honorees must have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial coursework with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or greater. Honorees also must have participated in at least one of their team's scheduled contests and must have been a member of their team for their sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
