52 Earn Academic All-Big 12 Honors

AMES, Iowa – The Big 12 Conference named 52 Iowa State student athletes to Winter Academic All-Big 12 teams. A total of 46 earned first team honors while six earned second team.
Women's basketball and gymnastics led the conference in their respective sports in number of honorees. Student-athletes from swimming and diving (20), gymnastics (12), women's basketball (9), wrestling (7) and men's basketball (4) were honored by the conference for their achievements over the semester.
Madelynn Langkamp (Gymnastics), Joscelyn Buss (Swimming and Diving), Fallon DeWitt (Swimming and Diving), Keely Tierney (Swimming and Diving) and Sam Schuyler (Wrestling) all posted 4.00 GPAs through the semester.
First team members earn the honor for maintaining a GPA of 3.20 or better and second team members hold a GPA of 3.00 to 3.19. Eligible student-athletes also have participated in at least 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshman and transfers are not eligible in their first year.
