AMES, Iowa – After opening the 2023 campaign with a 2-1 home victory over Arizona on Thursday, Iowa State (1-0) is set to hit the road for the first part of a three-game road trip this Sunday, August 20, when it faces off with the Northern Colorado Bears (0-1). Sunday's action is set to start at 1 p.m. CT and will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Cyclones will look to start a season 2-0 for the first time since 2015 on Sunday as they look to build off their season-opening win over future Big 12 opponent Arizona.

Leading the Cyclones
A pair of Cyclones have goals to their names this season as seniors Salomé Prat and Abigail Miller each punched one in against Arizona in Iowa State's season-opening victory. Prat notched four shots on the night, with all four being on goal. Both Mira Emma and Alex Campana tallied assists against the Wildcats, tying each other for the team lead. Redshirt freshman Avery Gillahan was the lone Cyclone to play keeper on Thursday, as she recorded two saves in her first collegiate action. Six different Cyclones played all 90 minutes of play on Thursday to lead the team in minutes played.
Opponent Observation: Northern Colorado
Northern Colorado dropped its season-opener on Thursday, falling to Colorado 3-0 in Boulder. The Bears were limited to just five shots on the night and 22 different players saw action. UNCO goalkeeper Kaya Lindberg tallied nine saves on the night.
Series History
Iowa State and Northern Colorado will meet for just the second time on Sunday, with the Cyclones holding a 1-0 series advantage. The schools previously met in 2014 when Iowa State picked up a 3-0 road victory over the Bears. This will be Iowa State's first trip to the state of Colorado since 2018.
