Iowa State opens Big 12 Conference play Saturday when it plays host to Oklahoma State. The Cyclones and Cowboys meet in the conference opener for the first time since 2004.

CLIMBING THE FRESHMAN CHARTS
Redshirt freshman Rocco Becht has already climbed into the freshman top 10 at ISU for completions (50), passing yards (549) and passing touchdowns (4).

LOOKING FOR NO. 100
Cyclone receiver Jayden Higgins enters Saturday's game with 99 career receptions. He had 87 receptions at Eastern Kentucky and has 12 this season, including 11 the last two weekends.

When Higgins reaches the mark, he'll be the third current player on the roster with 100 receptions, joining Jaylin Noel and Dimitri Stanley, and making ISU one of just five teams with three players above the century mark.

HALL OF FAMER
Former Cyclone Mike Strachan (1972-74) will go into the Iowa State Athletics Department Hall of Fame this weekend and will be recognized at halftime. Strachan was ISU's first two-time 1,000-yard rusher and earned First Team All-Big Eight accolades in 1972 and 1973. He played six seasons in the NFL for the New Orleans Saints.
