AMES, Iowa – Four Cyclones earned CSC (College Sports Communications) All-District honors for their athletic and academic achievements. The volleyball student-athletes honored were Morgan Brandt, Amiree Hendricks-Walker, Kiersten Schmitt and Lilly Wachholz.
Brandt again showed her versatility at setter in 2024, nearly hitting 1,000 season assists with 978 while adding 237 digs, 68 kills, 31 blocks and 22 aces. Brandt led the team with nine double-doubles and led ISU to hit over .300 in five matches. This is the junior's second CSC All-District nod.
Hendricks-Walker is fresh off earning All-Big 12 Second Team honors after a strong first season as a Cyclone. The middle blocker was a dual threat hitting 181 kills at an efficiency of .330 while totaling 73 total blocks, the second-highest block total on the team. Hendricks-Walker's hitting percentage ranked 10th among Big 12 players in league play.
Schmitt put up 44 total blocks and sent over 141 kills in 2024. Schmitt led Iowa State in blocks in five matches and had three outings totaling five blocks. The right-side hitter also served to eight aces and had 47 digs.
Wachholz ended the season as the kill leader with 287 averaging 2.68 per set. The redshirt sophomore went out to five 15-plus kill matches hitting over .300, with three of those over .470. Wachholz also had 83 digs, 36 blocks and 22 aces.
All-District honorees hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or greater and have competed in 90 percent of matches or have started in at least 66 percent of total matches. Freshmen are not eligible.
