49 Cyclones Named to Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team

AMES, Iowa – The Big 12 Conference named 49 Cyclones to the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team for the 2023-24 year, announced Wednesday.
Student-athletes from 14 sports were honored; men's basketball (3); women's cross country (2); football (11); men's golf (2); men's track and field (4); women's track and field (5), wrestling (1), women's basketball (4); women's golf (1); gymnastics (4); soccer (2); softball (5); swimming and diving (4) and volleyball (1).
Five Cyclones registered a perfect GPA of 4.00. Those student-athletes were Cade Kelderman (men's basketball), Jack Sadowsky (football), Lucas Morrison (men's track and field), Nathan Vincent (men's track and field) and Arianna Jackson (women's basketball).
The All-Big 12 Rookie Team honors student-athletes who are freshmen or new to their school. Members were nominated by the director of student-athlete support services and must be new or first-time/incoming freshmen who have completed 24 semester hours while achieving a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00. Honorees must also have participated in at least one of their team's scheduled contests and have been a member of their team for the entire NCAA Championship segment.
