THE SERIES
This will be the sixth all-time meeting between the Cyclones and Cowgirls, with Wyoming leading the series 3-2. Though the Cyclones won the first and only home match (in Urbandale) against the Cowgirls in 2017.
LAST TIME OUT
Iowa State won a 4-3 thriller over its in-state rival Iowa. After clinching the doubles point, the Cyclones' backs were against the wall as five of six first sets in singles matches went the Hawkeyes way.
However, with No. 70 Anna Supapitch Kuearum and Cristina Ramos Sierra being able to rally and come out on top in their matches and Suzanie Pretorius sweeping her match, the Cyclones took down the Hawkeyes in a match for the ages.

PLAYER TO WATCH
Cristina Ramos Sierra was the hero for the Cyclones on Wednesday, capturing the match-clinching victory in a third-set tiebreaker with everyone watching. The freshman picked up her first career singles win in a dual match in dramatic fashion. Her heroics not only helped win the match but also clinched the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series for Iowa State.
