Multiple Cyclones Earn Recognition From Big 12

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State had three different student-athletes take home multiple honors as the All-Big 12 tennis awards were announced Wednesday by the conference office. The awards were voted upon by the league's coaches.

Senior Anna Supapitch Kuearum and freshman Julia Camblor were named to the singles All-Big 12 Second Team after strong seasons. Camblor was also named to the All-Big 12 Freshman Team, while Kuearum teamed up with Cristina Ramos Sierra to earn a spot on the doubles second team.

All three student-athletes were recognized for the first time in their careers.

Kuearum finished a stellar career with her best season. She went 20-11 this season, finishing 8-7 overall while playing at the top singles spot for the Cyclones. In doubles action alongside Ramos Sierra, the pair won four of its last six decisions.

Kuearum and Ramos Sierra had a pair of ranked wins and led in three more matches that went unfinished.

Camblor, the fourth Cyclone to earn a spot on the Big 12 All-Freshman Team, had one of the best freshman seasons in school history, posting a 25-9 overall mark in singles play, including 6-5 in conference action. Her six conference wins were the third-most in program history for a single season, while her 25 overall wins were the most by any Cyclone freshman.

Overall, Camblor was 10-4 playing in her primary position at No. 2 singles.
