AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State men's golf team took home three tournament titles during the 2024-25 season, with two Cyclones earning individual medalist honors.
KEY STORYLINES
- The Cyclones won three tournaments this year, taking home titles at the Gopher Invitational, the Zach Johnson Invitational, and the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate.Â
- Junior Paul Beauvy qualified for his first NCAA Regional, where he tied for 11th with a 54 hole score of 209 at the NCAA Urbana Regional.
- Beauvy is the 11th player in program history to be selected for the NCAA Regionals. It is the third-straight year that a Cyclone has been selected, as senior Luke Gutschewski earned a trip the last two seasons.
- Beauvy was named to the PING All-Central Region Team, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America. It is the twelfth time that a Cyclone has earned the award, and the first since 2020.
- With a 70.91 scoring average this season, Beauvy holds the fourth-lowest single-season stroke average in Iowa State history.
- On the Cyclones' all-time career stroke average list, Gutschewski ends his career on top with a 71.68 scoring average. Beauvy currently sits in the second spot with a 71.71 average, while sophomore Owen Sawyer is in eighth with 72.69.
- Beauvy earned his first medalist honors at the N.I.T. with a career-best 54-hole score of 201, the third-lowest in program history. His 64 in the final round is tied for the third-lowest round in school history. Beauvy also earned a third place finish at the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate, where he finished with a 209.Â
- Junior Zach May earned his first tournament win at the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate, shooting a career-low 206 as well as tying the lowest round of his career (66) in the final round to help him finish 10-under par.Â
- ISU carded the lowest round score of all teams in the field seven times this year. The Cyclones achieved this at the Gopher Invitational (279), twice at the Zach Johnson Invitational (287 and 272), the N.I.T. (271), twice at the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate (278 and 268) and at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic (271).
- Beauvy finished the regular season with all of his rounds (31) counting to the team score. Gutschewski and Sawyer tied for the second-most counting scores with 29.
- Freshman Luke Metcalf carded a 65 at the Gopher Invitational, tying the second-lowest round by a freshman in school history.
