AMES, Iowa -Â Selected for his first NCAA Regional, Paul Beauvy will look to qualify for his first NCAA Men's Golf Championship appearance at the NCAA Urbana Regional. The regional will start on Monday, May 12th and concludes on Wednesday, May 14th where 18 holes will be played each day. In order for Beauvy to move on to the NCAA Men's Golf Championship, he needs to finish as the top individual from the 10 individuals selected for the NCAA Urbana Regional.Â
COURSE INFORMATION
The beautiful 18-hole course in Urbana, Illinois provided a great test for locals and visitors for almost 20 years. In 2020, ownership shifted as the Atkins Family made an incredible gift of over 300 acres of real estate to the University of Illinois and the University of Illinois Foundation. The renovation has resulted in a championship venue that provides a fun and challenging golf experience to players of all skill levels. Atkins Golf Club proudly serves as home course for the Fighting Illini Men's and Women's Golf Teams.
KEY STORYLINES
- This is the 11th time in program history that an individual has been selected for the NCAA Regionals. It is the third-straight year that a Cyclone has been selected, as senior Luke Gutschewski earned a trip the last two seasons.
- This season, Beauvy led the team in scoring average (71.03) and birdies (104). Beauvy is currently ranked No. 135 in the country.
- The junior from Saint-Alban, France has five Top-10 finishes this season, including a pair in the Top-5. Beauvy's best finish came at the N.I.T., where he earned medalist honors with a career-best 54-hole score of 201, the third-lowest in program history. His 64 in the final round is tied for the third-lowest round in school history. Beauvy also earned a third place finish at the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate, where he finished with a 209.Â
- On the Cyclones' all-time career stroke average list, Beauvy currently sits in the second spot with a 71.77 average. At a 71.03 scoring average this season, Beauvy has the fourth-lowest single-season stroke average in Iowa State history. As a freshman, Beauvy set the low freshman stroke average with a 71.94 in 2022-23.Â
