CLEVELAND – Iowa State heavyweight No. 1 Yonger Bastida dropped his NCAA title match to NC State's No. 2 Isaac Trumble, 5-0, Saturday night inside Rocket Arena. Bastida finishes his final season as a Cyclone as national runner-up with a 29-1 record.

It was a battle of undefeated heavyweights with Bastida carrying a 29-0 record into the title bout and Trumble a 20-0 record.

After a scoreless first period, Trumble escaped to begin the second period. Bastida fired off a shot attempt and got to a leg, nearly getting a takedown himself, but Trumble countered a spun around for a takedown. Trumble would ride out Bastida for the remainder of the match after Bastida chose to go underneath to begin the third period.

Bastida finished his season with a nation-leading 17 tech falls. He closes his storied Cyclone career with a 104-23 record and is tied for the 33^rd-most wins in program history. As a heavyweight, he compiled a 57-3 record.

Iowa State finished with three All-Americans and in eighth place with 52 points. It the Cyclones' 60^th top-10 finish in program history, fourth-most all-time behind Oklahoma State (90), Iowa (71) and Oklahoma (62).
