Dalton Moberly was named assistant athletics director for academic support in May 2026.
Moberly joined the Iowa State athletics department in 2021 after a five-year stint at Drake University.
Since he arrived at Iowa State, the athletics department has consistently posted school-record graduation success rates.
Moberly started at ISU as an academic coordinator, rising to assistant director prior to the 2025-26 academic year. In January of 2026, he was named interim director of the department.
Moberly is responsible for creating comprehensive academic support programming to ensure student-athlete academic growth, from initial orientation through graduation. He is also responsible for collaborating and consulting with campus constituents to assess academic progress and developing policies that adhere to NCAA, Big 12 and institutional eligibility standards.
Moberly was an assistant academic coordinator at Duke during the 2014-15 academic year.
He is a graduate of the University of Central Missouri where he earned a bachelor's degree in social studies teacher education in 2012. He was a student-athlete for the Mules, competing in cross country and track and field.
The Kearney, Missouri, native received his master’s degree from UCM in sport management in 2014.
Moberly and his wife, Ashley, reside in Huxley. They have two daughters, Leona and Lily.
