Outdoor: Finished 13th in the 10,000-meter run (31:01.70) at the Big 12 Championships … also ran the 10K at the Mt. SAC Relays.

Indoor: Scored a point for Iowa State in the 3,000-meter run (8:26.49) at the Big 12 Championships … also finished ninth in the 5,000m (14:49.20) at the conference championships … took 10th in the open 3,000-meter run (8:12.34) at the Iowa State Classic … also competed in the 3K at the Razorback Invitational and the Wieczorek Invitational.

XC: Competed in three events for ISU, including the NCAA Midwest Regional and National Championships… finished 150th at the NCAA Championships… came up big for the Cyclones at the Midwest Regional race, earning All-Region honors behind at 21st-place finish… earned Academic All-Big 12 First Team recognition.

2017-18
Outdoor: Competed in a pair of meets for the Cyclones … finished 11th in the 5,000-meter run at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships (15:02.82) … finished fifth with a personal best 14:11.34 in the 5K at the Bryan Clay Invitational.

Indoor: Participated in five meets for Iowa State … finished 11th in the 3,000-meter run (8:20.31) at the Big 12 Indoor Championships … clocked a personal best 8:11.11 in the 3K at the Iowa State Classic … posted a personal best 4:10.61 in the mile at the Razorback Invitational … also ran the mile at the Hawkeye Invitational and the Larry Wieczorek Invitational.

XC: Competed for the seventh-place finishing Cyclones at the NCAA Championships, taking 214th overall with a time of 31:51.44 … finished 42nd individually at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships, where Iowa State took first as a team … took 16th individually at the Big 12 Championships, finishing just outside of All-Big 12 honors … raced to a 157th-place finish in a time of 25:07 at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational … opened the season with a ninth-place showing at the Hawkeye Invitational … earned Academic All-Big 12 recognition.

2016-17
Outdoor: Took part in three meets for Iowa State … ran in the 5,000-meter run at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships … finished second to teammate Greyson Dolezal in the 3,000-meter run at the Nebraska Invite … ran to a personal best 14:35.31 in the 5,000 at the Cardinal Classic.

Indoor: Participated in two meets for the Cyclones … finished 20th in the 3,000-meter run at the Big 12 Indoor Championships … also ran the 3,000 at the Iowa State Classic.

XC: Appeared in five of Iowa State’s six meets as a sophomore … made his season debut at the Roy Griak Invitational, placing 46^th (25:57) to help the Cyclones to a runner-up team finish … placed 115^th (25:10) at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational as Iowa State’s No. 6 finisher … finished 26^th (26:21) at the 2016 Big 12 Championship, as Iowa State finished runner-up as a team … ran as Iowa State’s No. 7 finisher at the NCAA Midwest Regional, finishing 54^th overall in 31:25 … competed in his first NCAA Championship meet in Terre Haute, Ind., placing 198^th in 31:39.8.

XC: Made his Cyclone debut at the Hawkeye Early Bird Invitational, finishing 24th in 19:41, as Iowa State took home the team title ... Nownes crossed the line at the Rim Rock Classic in 25:20 to finish 39th overall ... was part of the Iowa State scoring effort at the 2015 Big 12 Championship, where he clocked a 25:34 to finish 30th ... finished 109th in 32:17 at the NCAA Midwest Regional ... finished ninth in the junior division of the USATF Men’s Cross Country Championship in a time of 27:13.

As a senior was named the Gatorade Nebraska Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year ... won the Nebraska Class A individual state championship with a time of 15:46.8 ... helped Omaha Creighton Prep win the 2014 Class A state crown ... was a two-time Nebraska Coaches Association Boys Cross Country Super-State selection ...
