Robin Wilson is in her ninth season as director of operations with the Iowa State wrestling program.
Wilson oversees the team's logistics and organizational needs -- including for travel, recruiting, budgeting, team events, and fan engagement.
Before coming to Iowa State, Wilson spent 30 years as a journalist and senior writer for the Chronicle of Higher Education. She has written numerous articles on how higher education works - focusing on faculty members’ personal and professional lives, as well as on issues involving students.
Wilson began her association with Coach Dresser at Virginia Tech when her oldest son, Lex, joined the team in 2011. She aided Dresser and the Hokie program as a volunteer assistant for the Southeast Regional Training Center in Blacksburg, Va. Her younger son, Coy, wrestled for Princeton.
A native of Detroit, Mich., Wilson received her bachelor’s degree from the College of Wooster (Ohio) in 1982.
