MALIBU, Calif. - The Iowa State soccer team fell, 3-0, to No. 19 Pepperdine on Friday night at the Waves' Tari Frahm Rokus Field. The Waves' then added their second score of the night when Jennifer Brewster collected a loose ball in front of the Cyclone goal and struck the net in the 13th minute. Pepperdine's Ashley Swanson concluded the scoring in the 63rd minute when she converted a free kick from 30 yards out by bending the ball over ISU goalkeeper Laura Boyer's head.
The Cyclones conclude their West Coast swing with a 3 p.m. game on Sunday against UC-Santa Barbara in Santa Barbara, Calif. ISU returns home to play host to the 2004 Nike Invitational on Friday, Sept. 17. Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Youngstown State and Creighton join the Cyclones in the tournament field.
