Cyclones Fall To No. 3 Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. ? Traci Dickenson had two homers and four RBI as No. 3 Oklahoma took the first game of Friday's doubleheader, 8-0, at the OU Softball Complex.

Oklahoma (40-4, 6-2 Big 12) got on the board early as Amber Flores and Samantha Ricketts delivered run scoring hits. Ricketts belted her 15^th homer of the season, a two-run shot to left center off Cyclone starter Katie Reichling to make it 3-0 after one inning.

The Sooners used a solo homer in the second and a two-run single in the third from Dickenson to increase their lead to 6-0.

After scoring a run in the fourth, Dickenson again hit a home run to end the game in the fifth.

The Cyclones (20-29, 0-5 Big 12) had three hits, a walk and a hit batter against Oklahoma pitcher Lauren Eckermann, who entered the contest with a 23-1 record and a 1.43 ERA.

Fallon Johnson and Alex Johnson extended their three-game hitting streaks and Courtney Wray added a single for the third hit of the game. Alex Johnson, a freshman from Raymore, Mo., moved into a tie for eighth with Kris McMaster (1994) with her 51^st hit of the season.

Johnson now has the most hits by a Cyclone in a single-season since Erin Woods had 59 in 1999.

Eckermann (24-1) was able to get out of a couple of jams to pick up her 24^th win of the season. The freshman allowed three hits while striking out five for her 10^th shutout of the season.

Katie Reichling (0-4) got the loss in her first start since March 2 against Kansas. Reichling allowed seven runs in 3 1/3 innings. Amie Ford relieved Reichling in the fourth and allowed just the solo homer to Dickenson in the fifth.

Ricketts joined Dickenson with three hits while Flores and Norelle Dickson collected two apiece.
