DES MOINES, Iowa?The Iowa State soccer team and Drake ended 110 minutes of soccer with a 0-0 double-overtime draw Sunday afternoon.
The match was the fourth time Iowa State (4-1-4) has gone to overtime this season, all ending in a draw.
ISU had a 15-13 shots advantage and had five shots on goal to Drake's eight. The Cyclones also had a 7-4 corner kick edge on Drake (3-3-3).
Freshman Jordan Wagner led the Cyclones with four shots, three of which were on goal.
Senior goalkeeper Ann Gleason played the full 110 minutes and registered five saves. Gleason's season record now stands at 4-1-4.
In the first half, Iowa State held a 4-3 shots edge and a 4-1 corner kick advantage. Freshman Megan Long and senior Adrianna O'Neill each fired one shot on frame in the opening half.
“We started slow the first half,” ISU head coach Wendy Dillinger said. “The second half was better. We created good scoring opportunities but just couldn't finish.”
Iowa State begins Big 12 Conference play in its next match. The Cyclones travel to Lubbock, Texas, to face Texas Tech Friday at 7 p.m.
