AMES, Iowa – The No. 23 Iowa State wrestling team is set to host Ohio (1-1, 0-0 MAC) on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. The dual will be available to watch through Cyclones.TV and FloWrestling.org.

Fans who purchased the LYM ticket package will be able to pick their purchase by visiting the Love Your Melon marketing table located on the south concourse. Pick up will be from 5:00 PM- 6:30 PM. There will be a marketing employee with a list of everyone who purchased the ticket package, but you still may be asked to show proof of purchase or a photo ID. Make sure you arrive early to claim your Love Your Melon Hat!Â
Cyclone Notebook
-No. 23 Iowa State returns home for one more dual before winter break. The Cyclones will take on Ohio on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum.
-This will be just the fourth meeting between Ohio and Iowa State in series history. The Cyclones currently hold a 3-0 advantage, winning their last contest in Athens in November of 1998, 38-3.
-Last week, ISU entered the NWCA/USA Today National Coaches' Poll at No. 23 for the first time since Nov. 1, 2016. This week the Cyclones are ranked No. 23 as well.
-Individually, Iowa State has six wrestlers ranked across the board. Austin Gomez (10, 10, 10, 10), Ian Parker (19, 19, 12, 16), Jarrett Degen (8, 8, 8, 7), Marcus Coleman (NR, NR, NR, 23), Sam Colbray (18, 15, 17, 16) and Willie Miklus (6, 5, 6, 5) all begin the season in the national InterMat, FloWrestling, OpenMat and Trackwrestling rankings.
-In their last bout, Iowa State took No. 3 Iowa down to the wire, falling to the Hawks 19-18. The two teams split in matches won in the dual, 5-5, but a major decision at 125 pounds proved to be the deciding factor late in the dual.
-Austin Gomez, Ian Parker, Jarrett Degen, Marcus Coleman and Sam Colbray are all a perfect 2-0 on the season in duals this year.
-Scoring points has been a point of emphasis for the Cyclones in 2018-19. In dual action, the Cyclones have seven wrestlers who are averaging 5.5 or more points per dual match.
-Austin Gomez and Jarrett Degen are trailblazers in Iowa State's offensive efforts. Degen leads the team in takedowns at 10 and is averaging 14 points per dual outing. Gomez is tied for second on the team in takedowns with six and leads the team in near-fall points at 14 in two matches. He is averaging 14.5 points per dual match.
-Iowa State rolled through SIU-E 37-3 to begin the season. In the dual, the Cyclones won nine of the 10 bouts. It was the largest victory (34) and most points scored (37) by an ISU team since Iowa State beat George Mason 39-2 at the Virginia Duals on Jan. 8, 2016.
-Iowa State's dual against SIU-E was wrestled in CY Stephens. Alex Mackall, Austin Gomez, Marcus Coleman, Willie Miklus and Gannon Gremmel will all get their first taste of Hilton Coliseum on Sunday evening.
-Dresser improved is all-time dual wins to 169 against SIU-E. He currently ranks as the No. 17 winningest active coach in Division I wrestling.
