AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State softball team returns home this weekend for a three-game series vs. No. 7 Texas at the Cyclone Sports Complex. The series opens on Friday at 4 p.m. CT. All three games will be broadcast on Big 12 Now on ESPN+. Admission to the Cyclone Sports Complex is open to the public.

-Iowa State is just 4-56 all-time vs. Texas, but the Cyclones won the most recent meeting, defeating No. 8 UT, 2-0, at the 2019 Big 12 Championship.
-Iowa State is 23-11 on the season, the second-best record through 34 games in program history, and the best since 1979.
-Skyler Ramos, who entered the series vs. OSU with one career home run, hit two in Stillwater. She accounted for two of ISU's three runs in the series.
-The Cyclone offense is turning heads this season, ranking T-No. 7 nationally in doubles (53) and No. 12 in runs scored (209).
-Sami Williams now holds Iowa State's all-time records for hits (304) doubles (73), home runs (61), RBI (169), runs scored (189), games played (234) and at-bats (773).
-Junior Mikayla Ramos is ranked T-No. 17 nationally in doubles this season with 10. She is ninth among "Power 5" conference players, and T-No. 2 in the Big 12.
-Sophomore pitcher Ellie Spelhaug has already recorded three saves - T-No. 10 nationally.
-Iowa State has played 31 games away from home this season - tied for the most of any team in the nation (New Mexico State).
-Head coach Jamie Pinkerton is coaching the Cyclones to an unprecedented start despite having a very young squad. Of the 18 players to take the field in ISU's Big 12-opening series vs. OU, 13 were seeing the first conference action of their careers.
-Freshman speedster Milaysia Ochoa is No. 6 nationally among NCAA DI freshmen with 15 stolen bases on the season - ranking No. 43 among all players. Ochoa is 15-17 on stolen base attempts in 2021 to lead an ISU team with 56 steals total (No. 16 nationally).
- The Iowa State defense committed 0 errors during last weekend's series at Oklahoma State - the second errorless streak of 3+ games this season. The Cyclones have a .972 fielding percentage on the season, and have just five errors in their last 11 games.
