AMES, Iowa - Iowa State (10-14, 4-9 Big 12) takes on one last Big 12 road trip of 2024, heading to meet No. 9 Arizona State in Tempe and Arizona in Tucson. ISU is fresh off a sweep at Texas Tech where Christy Johnson-Lynch solidified her 207th career Big 12 victory to tie the third most in Big 12 coaching history.

4 – Brooke Stonestreet totals four Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week career honors, becoming the fifth in program history to earn at least four. ISU holds 65, over double the amount of the next-highest total (31 by Texas and Baylor).

10 – Two Cyclones rank inside the program top 10. Stonestreet ranks eighth with 1,394 digs and Morgan Brandt sits at No. 9 with 2,555 assists.

20 – The 2024 season marks Johnson-Lynch's 20th season leading Iowa State.

The 2024 Cyclones

Iowa State sealed the season sweep over Texas Tech, both with 3-0 victories. The Cyclones hit at .307 marking the fourth match this season with a hitting percentage over .300.

Stonestreet and Rachel Van Gorp have earned Big 12 weekly awards this season. Stonestreet earned her fourth defensive nod while Van Gorp earned Big 12 Rookie of the Week. Van Gorp began as ISU's libero before transitioning into a hitting role. Van Gorp has put up three double-doubles, 275 digs, 77 kills and a team-leading 23 aces.

Johnson-Lynch continues her 20th season leading Iowa State, a program she has transformed. Johnson-Lynch holds 380 career victories with 207 of those being Big 12 wins to rank third in all-time conference history. Iowa State totals 10 20-win seasons under Johnson-Lynch, including the past two seasons.

The Opponents

No. 9 Arizona State sits atop the Big 12 standings and is on a 14-match win streak. The Sun Devils lone conference loss came at No. 19 Baylor in four, while their only non-conference loss came against Nebraska as the Huskers were ranked at No. 5. ASU has swept 17 opponents and leads the Big 12 in six statistical categories (aces, opponent hitting percentage, total assists, total digs, total kills and total aces). Claire Jeter ranks ninth in the nation with a hitting percentage of .425 on 222 kills, while also totaling 86 blocks this season.

Arizona is on a three-match win streak that began with a five-set win hosting No. 8 Kansas. The Wildcats also have conference wins against No. 20 BYU, Houston, Cincinnati and West Virginia. Jaelyn Hodge (323) and Jordan Wilson (321) lead Arizona in kills this season. In the victory over then-No. 8 Kansas, Wilson had 37 kills at a hitting percentage of .465 and 12 digs.
